*Dena Comley, Owner*
Dena’s interest in good health started long before she purchased The Granary. As a believer in all things natural and a life long vegetarian, Dena has always had an interest in living a healthy lifestyle. This interest extends beyond personal health to include the health of the natural environment. As a passionate environmentalist, Dena has always tried to make a positive difference in her world. As an environmental technologist for an engineering firm, Dena became disheartened and frustrated with her professional career; so when her first child was due to enter the world, she knew it was time for a big change. Now that her second child has made her presence, Dena is happier than ever with her decision to be closer to home and family. As an active member of the local business community, Dena sits on the board of directors for the Business Improvement Area (BIA) and is a member of the Carleton Place Chamber of Commerce, the Canadian Federation of Independent Businesses (CFIB) and the Canadian Health Food Association (CHFA).

*Kendra Reay R.H.N.*

Kendra Reay is no stranger to the importance and promotion of holistic living. She is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist who graduated from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in 2007 and ran an independently operated Nutritional Consulting practice downtown Toronto. As a consultant she provided clients with a variety of professional, preventative and holistic services to assist with their health and wellbeing while simultaneously working in various roles for 10 years at York University. Most recently she was the Manager of the Accommodation and Conference Services department. Kendra and her family have relocated from downtown Toronto to a farm in the Perth area to pursue their dreams of a whole, healthy, sustainable life. She has just joined the Granary team where she will be available a few days a week for nutritional advise. Kendra’s specialization is in prenatal and family nutrition, focusing on prevention and the use of non-toxic, natural therapies such as clinical diet and lifestyle assessments. Her philosophy is simple- food one consumes and the life one chooses to lead should be a continuous process of enjoyment and betterment where there is no such thing as cheating, failing, or falling off the wagon. Her emphasis is on holistic nutrition, allowing oneself the freedom to enjoy life with the understanding that prevention is the best way to maintain health and wellness.

Katy has just graduated from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. As a recent graduate her passion and energy around natural health is contagious!

The Granary staff has seen some changes this summer. We are sad to say good bye to 2 long time employees, Erin Humphrey and Hannah Stroud. At the same time we are excited for them as they venture into the world of post secondary school. Great adventures await I am sure. It has been a pleasure having both of them in the store these past 3 years.
