Yogurt and kefir. Similar on the surface. Very dif Yogurt and kefir. Similar on the surface. Very different where it counts.
Both are fermented dairy. Both support gut health. Both have earned a permanent spot in the fridges of people who eat intentionally. But they are not the same thing and knowing the difference can actually change how you feel.
Yogurt is thick, spoonable, and made with a small number of bacterial strains. It is rich in protein and calcium and works beautifully in cooking, smoothies, and as a topping. A genuine daily staple.
Kefir is thinner and made with kefir grains that contain dozens of strains of bacteria and yeast. That diversity makes it one of the most powerful probiotic foods you can consume. It is tangier, more complex in flavour, and may be better tolerated by people who are sensitive to lactose.
If gut health is the goal, kefir takes the lead. But both deserve a place in your kitchen.
Swipe through to learn the full breakdown and come find our selection of yogurt, kefir, and fermented products at The Granary.

Zero waste living does not have to be complicated Zero waste living does not have to be complicated or overwhelming.
It starts with the small stuff. The lights you leave on. The bottle you grab without thinking. The tap running while you brush your teeth. The bag you forgot in the car again.
None of these things feel significant on their own. But multiply them by every day, every household, every person in this community and they start to matter a great deal.
Swipe through for five simple things you can start doing this week. Not because they will save the planet overnight but because they are the kind of habits that add up quietly and consistently over time.
The Granary has been part of this community since 1978 and we have always believed that the way you shop, the way you eat, and the way you consume are some of the most powerful choices you make every single day.

Skincare the way it used to be made. Windblest Ap Skincare the way it used to be made.
Windblest Apothecary creates small batch tallow products that go back to basics in the best possible way. Grass fed beef tallow has been used for centuries to nourish, protect, and heal the skin and for good reason. It is remarkably similar in composition to the oils our skin naturally produces, which means it absorbs deeply, works quickly, and does not sit on the surface the way synthetic creams do.
No fillers. No synthetic fragrances. No ingredients you cannot pronounce. Just clean, intentional skincare rooted in tradition and made with genuine care.
If you have been looking for something simpler, something your skin can actually recognize and use, this is worth trying.
Windblest Apothecary is now on our shelves at The Granary.
Come in and find your new staple.

Hard flour and soft flour look identical in the ba Hard flour and soft flour look identical in the bag. Your baking knows the difference.
The type of flour you use determines the texture, structure, and outcome of everything you make. It is not just a preference. It is science.
Hard flour comes from hard wheat varieties and has a high protein content, typically 12 to 14 percent. That protein creates strong gluten development, which gives bread its chew, its rise, and its structure. Think sourdough, bagels, pizza dough, pasta.
Soft flour comes from soft wheat and has a much lower protein content, around 8 to 10 percent. Less gluten means a more tender, delicate crumb. Think cakes, muffins, biscuits, pastries.
The rule is simple. If you want chewy, reach for hard. If you want tender, reach for soft.
Both are available in bulk at The Granary. Buy exactly what you need, skip the packaging, and bake with the flour that was actually made for the job.
Swipe to learn the full breakdown.

Cacao vs. cocoa. They look the same, they sound Cacao vs. cocoa.
They look the same, they sound almost identical, but they are not the same thing and your body knows the difference.
Swipe to learn what sets them apart and why it matters more than you think.
The short version?
Cacao is chocolate in its purest, most nutrient dense form. Loaded with antioxidants, magnesium, and iron, minimally processed and incredibly good for you.
Cocoa goes through high heat processing that mellows the flavour and makes it easier to bake with but strips away a lot of what makes it special in the first place.
Both have their place. But if you're choosing intentionally, cacao is worth reaching for.
Find it in bulk at The Granary. Your weekly shop, done right since 1978. ๐ŸŒฟ
